Wisenet Pentabrid recorders – extend the life of existing analogue systems

News Post Image

The new Wisenet Pentabrid video recorders from Hanwha Techwin are designed to extend the life of existing analogue based CCTV whilst providing a smooth and cost-effective migration to an IP network based video surveillance solution. Combinations of analogue or IP cameras up to 4K ultra high definition can be connected to the new Wisenet Pentabrid 4, 8 and 16 channel video recorders with a simple on-board software switch that enables users to convert any channel from analogue to IP when required.

According to Hanwha - athough the benefits of an IP network based video surveillance solution are widely understood analogue systems are still being specified. There are also countless legacy systems being retained because the end-user is not yet ready to migrate to IP. This may be because the network infrastructure is unable to support a video surveillance system or provide the necessary bandwidth. But if existing analogue systems are still meeting an end-user’s requirements it may be difficult for them to justify the investment in upgrading or installing a new network. The new Wisenet Pentabrid models, which support a wide range of Intelligent Video Analytics including audio, face, defocus, enter/exit and camera tampering detection, can be configured to trigger a variety of actions when an event occurs - such as automatically sending email alerts to specified personnel or moving a PTZ camera to a pre-set position.

The Pelco Sarix series 3 box cameras pack a real punch

News Post Image

Within the Sarix Professional Range, the IXP Series Box Cameras are compatible with a choice of standard CS mount mega pixel lenses for wide angle or long range surveillance needs. Their box cameras feature an auto back focus mechanism to accommodate this range of lenses and ensure the camera automatically stays in perfect focus. The Sarix IXP Series also features advanced colour science and true WDR for increased visibility in difficult lighting situations.

Sarix Professional provides options for three simultaneous video streams. The three streams can be compressed with efficient H.265, H.264 High or Main profiles, or MJPEG formats. The streams can be configured to a variety of frame rates and variable bit rates to optimise image quality with bandwidth and storage efficiency. Pelco Smart Compression is available on both H.264 and H.265, minimising storage and bandwidth utilisation. This new range of cameras feature on-board edge storage with a micro SDHC/SDXC card. Video clips of varying lengths can be stored to the card upon alarm, or in the case of network outage video can be written continuously to the SD card. Video can be retrieved from the card through the FTP protocol or by using an ONVIF Profile G compliant client.

Sarix Professional range cameras seamlessly connect to Pelco video management systems such as VideoXpert™, VXToolbox, Endura® version 2.0 (or later) and Digital Sentry® version 7.3 (or later). They also integrate with major third-party systems through the open Pelco API or the ONVIF Profile S, Profile G, Profile Q, and Profile T standards.
